New Lenox All-Village Dance Day

This year’s New Lenox All-Village Dance Day is Saturday, June 14 at the Pavilion in the Commons!

Saturday, June 14 2:00PM (Tentative Time) - Performance
Friday, June 13 4:30PM - Dress Rehearsal

Up to seven dance studios/entities from within the New Lenox Village, including W Dance Studio, will be performing at the New Lenox Performing Arts Pavilion next to the Village Hall for our 3rd annual All Village Dance Day. This is our end of year performance for 2007/2008 and is scheduled for Saturday, June 14. The day’s events start at noon and W Dance Studio will perform around 2:00PM but the exact times will be determined at a later date.

This is not a mandatory performance. This is an informal opportunity for W Dance Studio to showcase our students’ talent. No tickets are required but it is first come, first serve for the lawn space. Bring your own blanket or folding chair. Due to the increased number of participating entities, parking and available audience space will be limited. Plan ahead and get there early. You can even bring a picnic lunch if you wish.

Because W Dance Studio only has 45 minutes to perform, approximately 300 students and some 48 classes, there will be some consolidation of classes performing and/or only giving combo classes one of the two, tap or ballet, dances to perform.

This is an outdoor facility and there will be tents for dressing areas. However, most students will simply perform in their regular class dress attire or W Dance Studio Logo attire so arrive in your pink and black but bring extra warm clothing to stay warm.

As always, weather is a huge factor. If the weather is severe (heavy rain or lightning), the performance will be “called” by 11:00AM on Sat., June 14. In case of inclement weather, you call the W Dance Studio main telephone number (815) 463-1819 after 11:00AM to determine if we’re performing. Let’s hope for good weather!

Due to the fact that the winter session classes end on May 17th and the All Village Dance Day is not until June 14th, we will need to have a dress rehearsal at the Pavilion on Friday, June 13th starting at 4:30PM. It should end by 6:00PM. If you/your child plan on performing on Sat., June 14th YOU MUST ATTEND THE DRESS REHEARSAL ON FRIDAY, JUNE 13TH. Again, more information will follow.

We will be distributing sign-up sheets that you must note your/your child’s commitment to dance at this performance. Extras can be found at the 2351 location front desk. We must have a majority of dancers commit to the performance to have their class perform.

*More detailed information will be released closer to the performance date.*

Cathy Roe’s Ultimate Dance Competition — April 19–20

Congratulations to the Competition Students who did very well at the Cathy Roe Dance Competition on April 19 & 20!

W Boyz Crew received a High Gold Adjudication and a 2nd Runner Up Novice Division High Score Trophy. JaHizzop received a Gold Adjudication and a special award for choreography called "Dare To Be Different." Emo Waltz not only received a High Gold Adjudication and a 1st Runner Up Novice Division High Score Trophy but Cathy Roe personally picked this dance as her favorite out of the entire competition for its unique choreography and positive message.

Congratulations dancers and Monty for representing W Dance Studio so well and for being so proffessional, creative and spectacular as performers! I was very proud of each and every one of you.
